"Easy Gas Pump Handle"

Developed for: Bill Mann, RERC on Aging / Jim Leahy, RERC on Technology Transfer

You can go back to the self-serve pump again! When the gasoline stations introduced the self serve concept, most gas pump nozzles were fitted with a mechanism that held the pump in the 'on' position. For a variety of reasons, that pump style is not available in many gas stations any more. The Easy Pump is a tool that uses leverage to make it easier to squeeze and hold a gasoline pump handle while filling the tank of your car. One roller pushes the pump lever up, while the other roller sits on top of the handle. Pressing down on the Easy Pump squeezes the lever, which allows the gas to flow. Great for people with limited hand strength or for bus and truck drivers with large gas tanks to fill. When not in use, the Easy Pump can be conveniently stored in the car. The rollers are nylon connected by a rust proof metal and the handle is made of wood. Weighs 14.5 ounces.
