Program Overview

WNY's Premier Assistive Technology Specialists

The Center is the region's source for expert assistive technology information. Since 1988, we have trained thousands of consumers and professionals locally and nationwide. Our nationally certified training staff are experts in the use of assistive technology in the areas of early intervention, school-based education, transition, post-secondary education, employment and aging.

Workshops Offered

We offer hands-on workshops for small groups in our accessible computer lab. You will have your own computer that is fully equipped with assistive devices and software. Current groups are learning about Windows-based scanning systems, speech output, character enlargement, speech recognition, braille translation and portable note taking devices. Also offered are workshops in basic computer literacy, use of Internet resources, email, word processing and graphics. The course list changes frequently, depending on requests and new technologies as they become commercially available. We can also design workshops customized to your group's needs.

Who Should Attend

Educators, employers, service providers, administrators, consumers and users of assistive technology, parents, seniors and anyone who may benefit from the enhanced use of technology. Continuing education units (CEUs) are available.
